Crustacean
With their armored outer shells, crustaceans protect their vulnerable soft flesh - Lieberman juxtaposes them against exposed human nakedness, lowering the shields that we might raise spiritually or physically. Like us crustaceans can alter their appearance by inhabiting other forms – moving from one shell to another.
Empty shells are discarded homes, which man delights in recycling to decorate our homes and bodies which we have done since the beginning of time. Both aesthetically beautiful and practical - let us not forget the power of the Conch shell to incite celebration or alert warning in times of need.
